The audiovisual archives of the Comédie-Française are making their debut this autumn on INA’s digital platforms and on DVD.
Strongly inked with cinema, radio and television since its beginnings, the theatrical institution has built up a true wealth of AV material over the decades, amounting to over 10,000 documents. Through partnering with Ina, its iconic productions can now be seen and heard via video on demand.
That partnership now makes available to the general public:
Full-length programmes accessible through subscription video on demand (SVOD) and available to be permanently downloaded, along with selected clips, on Ina Premium.
A dedicated YouTube channel, “Ina-Comédie-Française”, launched expressly for this occasion. Featured are clips, profiles of the troupe and behind the scenes reports.
A new collection of DVDs from the Comédie-Française, put together by Ina. The series opens with an opera version of “The Damned”, based on the film by Luchino Visconti. The DVD, now available here brings you the production directly from its premiere at the Avignon Festival in July 2016, directed by Ivo van Hove.
It was in September 2015 that Ina first made its audiovisual treasure trove available through subscription video on demand (SVOD), via INA Premium. Its catalogue, the richest on the market with 20,000 programmes, includes several dozen examples of the Comédie-Française’s repertoire.
