Nearly one thousand people took part this year in the French National Audiovisual Institute’s Heritage Days, in Bry-sur-Marne.
This event, which the public loves, provides the opportunity for visitors to discover Ina backstage with its variety of sometimes unsuspected activities.
The 2017 tour of the grounds was divided into a number of workshops, each presented by professionals and enthusiasts in the sector.
• The public discovered the “Acousmonium” by taking part in a mini-electro-acoustic music concert with a unique amplification system! • Visitors then went on to discover the rest of the Ina site, within a sound studio, where two experts told them all they could ever want to know about restoring sound archives. • Adults and tiny tots found themselves playing the role of the Weatherman or lady on Ina’s ‘big shoot’ studio. • The visit ended with a demonstration of virtual reality. All those keen to do so were able to into the 360° atmosphere again by slipping on a virtually reality headset to watch Rostropovitch playing the violoncello in front of the Berlin Wall. This video came from the VR challenge organised by Ina earlier this year.
Watch this space for next year’s event, and to enjoy another Heriage Days with Ina!
