INA at the heart of audiovisual bodies

A major player in the fields of audiovisual archives and training in media and digital professions, INA is actively involved in international professional networks. During the lockdown period, the Institute has continued its discussions and initiatives with its peers, and has adapted its offers to make them more accessible online.

INA's influence in the international scene is sustained by its commitment to multilateral bodies, real facilitators for building partnerships and sharing good practices, such as the International Federation of Television Archives (IFTA), of which it is a founding member. The Institute is also an active member of the International Council of Archives (ICA) as well as the International Association of Sound and Images (IASA).

During the lockdown period, INA switched to a digital meeting format and continued its commitments within the networks of which it is a member, to present its scientific evaluation and archive management initiatives.

On June 8, INA participated during the Semaine Internationale des Archives 2020 [International Archives Week 2020], organised by the International Council of Archives. Two of its experts hosted a webinar entitled "Datasprint at the INAthèque: review of an experiment". This conference, which brings together both professionals and researchers, enabled discussions on the challenges of the scientific evaluation of archives using digital tools. At the invitation of the IFTA’s Media Management Commission (MMC), INA has organized an online meeting and presented the norm chosen for its Thesaurus management in the new information system of collection. This meeting has brought together 6 institutions located in 5 different countries (France, Italy, Brazil, Sweden and the United States).
