Laurent Vallet was appointed President of Ina for five years at the Council of Ministers’ meeting in May 2015, following a recommendation by the then Minister for Culture and Communications, Fleur Pellerin.
From 2002 to 2015, Laurent Vallet was Managing Director of the Institute for the financing of film and the cultural industries (IFCIC). He graduated from the business school, HEC, the Paris-based Institute for Political Studies (IEP) and finally, France’s prestigious Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA).
He started his career as a civil administrator in 1995 at the treasury of the Ministry of the Economy and Finances, and went on to hold positions as Deputy Secretary General of the Club de Paris (1995-1997), then Deputy to the head of the financial market bureau (1997-1999). Appointed Financial Deputy of France Télévisions in 1999, he joined the cabinet of the Minister of the Economy, Finances and Industry in 2001, as Technical Advisor.
Laurent Vallet is extremely knowledgeable about the audiovisual and film sectors, and drafted the report on the relationship between producers and broadcasters, which was submitted to the Culture and Communications Minister in 2013. In the report, he recommended simplifying and adapting the legal framework applicable to this working relationship.
